How did the players fare in Newcastle's 1-0 win at Leicester's King Power Stadium?

LEICESTER (4-1-4-1):

Schmeichel 5; Pereira 5, Morgan 5, Maguire 6, CHILWELL 6; Ndidi 5 (Mendy 72); Gray 4 (Iheanacho 72), Maddison 5, Tielemans 4, Barnes 5 (Albrighton 79); Vardy 5.

Subs (not used): Ward (gk), Fuchs, Evans, Okazaki.

NEWCASTLE (3-4-2-1):

7 Dubravka: Made a good first-half save from Chilwell and came off his line to clear the danger when Leicester pressed late on

8 Schar: Was rock solid at the back throughout and produced one of the moments of the game when he dribbled from one end to the other

7 Lascelles: Produced a captain’s display at the heart of defence, marking Vardy out of the game

7 Dummett: Justified his recall for the injured Lejeune with a typically committed display – won a number of important headers

7 Manquillo: Got the nod ahead of Yedlin, and took his chance with a composed and authoritative defensive display

8 Hayden: Played superbly at the base of midfield, rendering the dangerous Maddison completely ineffective

7 Ki: Worked tirelessly to keep the Leicester midfield quiet and used the ball effectively when in possession

9 RITCHIE: Has made the left wing-back spot his own – set up Perez’s winner with an excellent curling cross

7 Almiron: Didn’t always choose the right option, but caused a series of problems with his pace and direct running

8 Perez: Settled things with a fantastic glanced header and did not give Leicester’s defenders a moment’s peace

8 Rondon: Put in a sterling shift as he led the line as a lone striker and clearly relished the physical battle against Maguire

Subs:

Atsu (for Almiron, 78)

Diame (for Ki, 82)

(not used): Darlow (gk), Yedlin, Fernandez, Shelvey, Muto.

Man Of The Match: MATT RITCHIE – The Scotsman has been a revelation since switching to left wing-back, and this was right up there with his best displays in a Newcastle shirt.
