RAJIV VAN LA PARRA has posted a cryptic message on social media following his premature return to his parent club, Huddersfield Town.

Van La Parra joined Boro on a season-long loan in January, but did not make a single Championship start for the Teessiders.

In the wake of his side’s midweek defeat to Bristol City, Tony Pulis confirmed van La Parra would not play again this season because of a back problem.

Pulis claimed the winger had arrived at the Riverside with a back injury “which had been documented by both clubs”, and expressed regret that van La Parra had been unable to reach the kind of fitness levels that would have enabled him to contribute with the first team.

Van La Parra has returned to Huddersfield, and took to Instagram to post a picture of him in a Middlesbrough shirt with the words: “Sometimes the most powerful words are the ones left unspoken. I want to thank to the Boro fans for all the love and support while I was there. Wish you guys all the best in the future.”
