SUNDERLAND winger Aiden McGeady has made the three-man shortlist for the League One Player of the Year award.

McGeady, who boasts 15 goals and five assists this season, is up against Luton Town striker James Collins and Doncaster Rovers forward John Marquis for the honour, which will be awarded at this year’s EFL Awards, which will be staged at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel on Sunday, April 7.

The Championship Player of the Year shortlist is comprised of Birmingham City’s Che Adams, Norwich City striker Teemu Pukki and Sheffield United skipper Billy Sharp.

The League Two honour will go to either Tranmere Rovers’ James Norwood or one of the Bury duo, Danny Mayor and Jay O’Shea.

The EA Sports Young Player of the Season shortlist consists of Derby County’s Harry Wilson, Luton Town’s James Justin and Max Aarons of Norwich City.

All 72 EFL managers voted for their players of the season, with McGeady the only Sunderland player to make the League One team. Middlesbrough’s Darren Randolph is the goalkeeper for the Championship Team of the Season.
