NEWCASTLE United’s record signing Miguel Almiron is ready to start for the first time in the Premier League, says Rafa Benitez.

Almiron was a second half substitute in the 1-1 draw with Wolves at the start of last week following his £20m switch from Atlanta United.

The playmaker also had a run-out in last Saturday’s friendly with CSKA Moscow and now Benitez thinks he could make his full debut against Huddersfield tomorrow afternoon.

Benitez said: “I think he’s sharp enough. It's another important decision to make because all of them in this position too, we have enough players and all of them are training well.

“You could see Kenedy in Spain, he was training well; Christian Atsu was doing well; Ayoze Perez was doing well and Almiron, for me, was doing quite well too, so it's more good news for us.”

In fact, Newcastle are only without defender Ciaran Clark and goalkeeper Rob Elliot for a game against bottom club Huddersfield at St James’ Park.

The Terriers are looking for improvements and are in desperate need of the points, while Newcastle know they can’t afford to lose if they want to stay out of the bottom three.

He said: “At the end, you have to make decisions. It's a dilemma, I know that. You have to decide which players have to be in the squad and players who have to wait, and it's not an easy decision.

“Sometimes it's the worst thing that you have to do because you can see them training and they are doing well. But still you have to decide, that's it.”
