Spennymoor manager Jason Ainsley said that he hopes that his team makes the most of their home advantage in the last 16 of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

Moors, who have beaten Sutton United, Barwell and Halesowen at the Brewery Field so far, have been drawn at home to fellow National League North side AFC Telford United – who won 2-1 at Hartlepool United in round two.

Ainsley said: "It's an opportunity for us to avenge two close feats in the league against Telford. Both games have been very tight and I expect this one to be no different. They're an excellent team who had a fantastic result against Hartlepool, and we hope to make the most of our home advantage."

Moors lost 3-2 at home to Telford in August, and 2-1 in Shropshire ten days ago. Telford won 2-1 at Hartlepool last Saturday.

Blyth have been drawn away to Leyton Orient, who are top of the National League.

Games are due to take place on February 2.

Moors are to offer free travel to supporters to Saturday’s game at Darlington.

MD Tony Wilson said: “We want this to be a landmark moment in our season. Saturday was a terrific day for everyone involved in the club and we all feel invigorated by it. From the outstanding performance on the pitch, to the atmosphere in the stands and everything in between – that was what Spennymoor Town is all about.

“Obviously, we want this feeling to continue. The club wants to do its bit to allow as many supporters to attend the Darlington fixture as possible, so we hope our fans respond in the same way as they did last week and fill a few coaches for Saturday.

“It’s set to be a terrific game of football and we hope to come away from Blackwell Meadows riding even higher than we currently are.’’
