HARTLEPOOL UNITED (4-2-3-1):

6 Loach: Did what was asked, solid poisoning, but parried what proved the winning goal into the centre of the penalty area;

7 Richardson: Accomplished show on the right of the back three, defensively alert and solid playing more infield

7 Magnay: Put a real shift in holding the back three together, attacked the ball and won his headers all afternoon

6 Kioso: Appeared to put his recent shaky spell to bed as he looked at ease on this occasion;

6 Donaldson: Again a driving force on the right, sharp and tried to get at the opposition

7 Featherstone: As poor he was last Tuesday he was influential - first half especially - on this occasion

6 Noble: No mistake from the spot, took his penalty with ease again and enjoyed the opening hour when he was at the fore

6 Kitching: Saw plenty of the ball but it was more about what happened after he was replaced when he tired rather than what he did when he was playing;

8 HAWKES: Made for the role behind the front two as he passes the ball confidently and with assurance, and got into good positions;

7 James: Worked away and chased in his usual manner while taking a standard battering from the visiting defenders

6 Muir: Played more like a centre forward, spent more time playing up front than dropping deeper and deeper.
