CHRIS MAGUIRE has returned to the Sunderland starting line-up for tonight’s visit of third placed Barnsley to the Stadium of Light.
The forward has been recalled after impressing as a substitute in the 2-2 draw at Walsall on Saturday when he was left out initially because of a knock.
But he is back in the team to face the Tykes with Bryan Oviedo, who started as a winger at the Bescot, missing out.
That is the only change for Sunderland, with midfielder Max Power keeping his place in the middle after having his third red card of the season overturned after an appeal.
SUNDERLAND (4-2-3-1): McLaughlin; Matthews, Baldwin, Flanagan, James; Honeyman, Power; Gooch, McGeady, Maguire; Maja. Subs: Patterson (gk), Oviedo, O’Nien, Sinclair, Ozturk, Mumba, Hackett.
BARNSLEY (4-2-3-1): Davies; Cavare, Lindsay, Pinnock, Fryers; McGehhan, Mowatt; Potts, Woodrow, Thiam; Moore. Subs: Greatorex, Pinillos, Brown, Moncur, Bahre, Jackson, Adeboyejo.
