BISHOP AUCKLAND and Shildon have both been given home ties in the first round of the Buildbase FA Vase.

Bishops, who have beaten Newton Aycliffe and West Allotment to get this far, have been drawn at home to Hemsworth, who are top of the Northern Counties East League Premier Division.

Shildon, who were exempt to this stage, will also be at home, to Glasshoughton from the first division of the Northern Counties East League.

Brandon, who haven’t played at this stage of the competition since 2003, are at Barton Town, who are fourth in the NCEL Premier Division, a division above them.


The draw for the first round proper of the Buildbase FA Vase is:

Bedlington v Whickham, Sunderland RCA v Bridlington Town,  Hebburn Town v City of Liverpool, Cheadle Town or Vauxhall Motors v Seaham Red Star, Bishop Auckland v Hemsworth MW, Runcorn Town v Guisborough Town, Billingham Town v Dunston UTS, Nelson v Ashington AFC, Shildon v Glasshoughton Welfare, Barton Town v Brandon United.


Stockton Town are exempt until the second round. Games are to be played on Saturday 13th October.
