MIDDLESBROUGH will travel to Preston in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
Boro were handed a trip to Deepdale in this evening's draw, having seen off Rochdale in Tuesday's second-round tie.
The Teessiders were 3-2 winners in the league at Preston last season, with two goals from Daniel Ayala and another strike from Jonny Howson settling things on New Year's Day. The victory was Tony Pulis' first success as Boro boss.
This season's third-round tie will take place in the week beginning Monday, September 24.
