MIDDLESBROUGH have agreed a fee for Bristol City defender Aden Flint, and are hoping to be able to complete a deal in the next 24 hours.
Flint is currently at Rockliffe Park undergoing a medical after Boro’s £6m bid was accepted at Ashton Gate.
Flint is a 28-year-old centre-half who began his career in the non-league scene with Alfreton Town and Matlock Town.
He signed his first professional deal with Swindon Town in 2011 and spent two seasons playing at the County Ground before making a £300,000 switch to Bristol City in the summer of 2013.
He has made 246 senior appearances for the Robins, and signed a new long-term deal as recently as this March, but Bristol City have opted to cash in amid interest from a number of clubs.
Tony Pulis identified Flint as a leading target at the start of the summer, and Boro have beaten off competition from a number of their Championship rivals to land the centre-half.

Keith Scadding: "Got him on the cheap, should have been £10m. He is a very good player for us at Bristol City. We have been let down by City."
