Richmondshire were the big movers. The majority of clubs had derby matches as these popular games threw up some interesting results.

The Dalesmen will lost the title on the last day of the season last summer due to the weather. This time they may glean some satisfaction that they closed the gap to just 11 points, as they won and Great Ayton were left to claim a draw in their rain sodden fixture at Stokesley.

Richmond entertained

Barnard Castle, lost the toss and were asked to bat first.

Skipper Gary Pratt led from the front, making 89 from 140 balls, which included 11 fours, in a total of 196-7, with Josh Bousfield returning 3-44.

The home side bowled well to take 25 crucial points, as Matthew McKiernan took 4-21 and Craig Marshall 3-54, despite Hashan Dumindu scoring 55.

Thornaby remain third, after winning by four wickets at Acklam Park.

Middlesbrough slumped to 116 all out, as professional Tharindu Rathnayake returned a magnificent 6-22, off 11.4 overs and skipper Paul Allen chipped in with 3-30, with James Middleton (36) and Mark Gleeson (33), Boro’s main run scorers.

Thornaby were 118-6 with Lewis Harper making a breezy 44 not out from 36 balls, including three fours and two sixes, this was despite Steven Reeves taking 3-39.

Darlington climbed to sixth, after beating bottom club Bishop Auckland by a comfortable seven wickets.

They asked the visitors to bat first after winning the toss and skittled them out for just 138, with Ryan Nicholson 48 and Scott Oldfield adding 30, but Rajeewa Weerasinghe with 4-41 and Peter Greenwell 3-7, bowled very well.

A 105 run partnership, from Alex Metcalfe (38) and a brilliant 85 not out from Liam Coates, saw them easily home to victory.

The weather caused a few games to end up as draws, with Seaton Carew scoring 230-4, in their derby at Hartlepool. Usman Arshad bagged 89 runs and a fine 88 not out from skipper Paul Braithwaite, off 102 balls, put them in a good position.

However, Hartlepool scored 174-4, from their reduced allocation, with opener James Lowe making 81 off 83 balls, which included eight fours and a six. Doug Mulholland ensured the draw, when he made 36 not out.

Marton were the better team as they drew at home to Marske. They amassed 243-5 declared, with opener Luke De Vlieg scoring 78 off 102 balls and Chris Allinson added 65. Professional Aamer Sajjad then added 43 not out, from 30 balls, to allow the declaration, with Benjamin Van Rensburg claiming 3-60, with the ball

The home side bowled well, as Marske struggled against skipper Alex Wardell. He took 5-20 from his 11 overs in a total of 90-7, with opener Jozef Wing making 35.

Stokesley welcomed their neighbours and champions Great Ayton but could not beat the weather. They racked up a massive 292-4, as Jonny Weighell scored 104 not out and James Weighell smashed 88, but the game had to be abandoned due to heavy rain.
