SUNDERLAND (4-1-4-1)
5 Camp: Gave away the spot-kick after fouling Bodvarsson but saved from Kelly
6 Love: Did little wrong in a solid performance in a Sunderland back line that was unfairly breached twice
6 Kone: Strong at the back and played his part in repelling a late charge by Reading
6 Wilson Came into the starting eleven and did well, although he may have done better for the second goal
5 Oviedo : Only played a part in the first half as he was substituted early in the second with a knock;
7: McManaman: Impressive on the right and gave the Reading defence plenty to think about
7 Cattermole : Deserved his second half goal in a impressive display
6 Honeyman : His backheel to McManaman in the first half was his most notable effort
9 McNAIR: His second half thunderbolt of a goal was the highlight
7 McGeady: May have done better with a first half shot against Mannone
6 Fletcher : Found plenty of space in the Reading flanks
Subs:
Clarke-Salter (for Oviedo, 48): Was tested at the back with a late Reading onslaught. 6
Asoro (for McManaman, 75): Almost snatched it at the death. 6
Maja (for Honeyman, 82) : A ten minute cameo was not sufficient.
(not used): Stryjek, LuaLua, E Robson, Ejaria
MAN OF THE MATCH: Paddy McNair - A bright spot in an otherwise wretched season with his wonder strike early in the second half giving Sunderland some hope at the Madejski.
