SUNDERLAND are set to sign Liverpool youngster Ovie Ejaria on loan for the remainder of the season.
Chris Coleman is hoping to make another two or three signings before the transfer window closes tomorrow night, with Ejaria set to become the Black Cats’ third addition of the month after Jake Clarke-Salter and Kazenga LuaLua.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder is expected to sign a season-long loan agreement after Jurgen Klopp gave him the green light to leave Anfield in search of regular first-team football.
A former Arsenal trainee, Ejaria has made eight senior appearances for Liverpool, but has not featured in the Premier League club’s first team this season.
He will increase Sunderland’s attacking options from midfield, and while he will not be available for this evening’s Championship game with Birmingham City, he could make his debut when Ipswich Town visit the Stadium of Light at the weekend.
Coleman remains keen to sign a striker and a goalkeeper before tomorrow’s 11pm deadline, with talks over Leeds shot-stopper Andy Lonergan and Middlesbrough’s Dimi Konstantopoulos still ongoing.
