Ryan Moore continued his fine run of form with a 22-1 hat-trick at Goodwood last night.

The champion jockey only returned from injury last Thursday but has been in sparkling form since, notching eight winners in the last nine days.

And Moore kept the bandwagon rolling in the first two races at the Sussex venue, scoring on Berbice and Royal Secrets.

Berbice had to pull out all the stops to justify odds of 2-5 in the EBF Southern Daily Echo Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Richard Hannon's charge had hit the board in two previous starts and punters were keen to back the Acclamation colt to make it third-time lucky.

Berbice broke smartly and was always in the front rank before really starting to push on approaching the final furlong.

However, Aaim For Applause made a real battle of it with the pair only separated by a neck at the line after pulling eight lengths clear of third-placed Kristal Glory.

''He's still in the Coventry Stakes (at Royal Ascot) but I think he will probably give it a miss,'' said Moore.

''He might pop up in a Sales race or something later this year.''

Moore produced a masterful display aboard Royal Secrets (9-2) in the Gabem Maiden Stakes.

The Ed Dunlop-trained filly could not find a clear run around a furlong out but Moore switched her wide and Royal Secrets powered down the outside to steal a length-and-a-quarter verdict over Castara Bay.

''It rode a terrible race to be honest. I was stuck behind a line of three horses but I thought if she got some room she would pick up,'' the rider said.

Moore completed his treble when 2-1 favourite Squadron just held Guardian Of Truth in a thrilling finish to the Taurus Waste Recycling Maiden Handicap.
