HARTLEPOOL UNITED have added a new right-back to Ronnie Moore’s squad by making a raid on Turf Moor.

Luke Hendrie, a versatile defender, has joined on an initial one-month loan and replaces Brad Halliday, who has returned to Middlesbrough following a similar spell.

Hendrie, the son of ex-Boro forward John, only moved to Burnley from Derby County in the summer and has been signed to improve options at full-back and in midfield.

He will wear the number 27 shirt for Pools and can play at Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, where he is likely to replace Halliday while Michael Duckworth continues his recovery from injury.
