DANNY Wilson admits he had no complaints after his side was reduced to nine men in defeat at Rochdale.

Andy Monkhouse and Richie Barker were red carded within three second-half minutes, as Pools were knocked off top spot in the process.

Both will be out of the season's finale on Saturday, with Monkhouse also suspended for the first two games of next season.

"I have no problems at all with any of the red cards - the referee made the right decisions,'' insisted Wilson. "Richie was instinctive on the line and when that happens you don't think about the consequences and next week.

"You don't have time to think about it. The disappointment of the sending-off isn't as much as the defending which allowed them to get a shot.

"Frustrations boiled over when Andy Monkhouse was sent-off, it shows how much we want to win the title doesn't it?

"There was a lack of discipline in the incident and the referee called it right. (John) Doolan swung a punch as well so he had to go, but I cannot complain.

"It was a silly challenge from Andy, we cannot condone it. He had to be sent-off.''

After his side failed to score in a league game for the first time since November 4, Wilson admitted: "The amount of chances we had, we should have put it beyond them.

"When we came out second half and put them under pressure we should have had some goals - maybe it was a lack of confidence in the box, or a lack of composure.

"It was a bad start from our point of view - their was no danger at all. They got a shot in and it bounced up in front of Dimi. We spoke before the game about that happening because the pitch isn't true.

"But we had to do it at both ends of the pitch -- their keeper could have done the same. It was a setback, but we got our game back, had a penalty and chances.

"Overall it's so disappointing because we like to play at a tempo and we never found it.''

Nelson, replaced after half an hour, is likely to miss Saturday's game. "Nelse had a medial ligament tear - it was from a block tackle,'' said Wilson.

"He will be assessed on Monday and it was a major blow to lose him. It takes something for him to go off.''
