VITO MANNONE has been dropped by Gus Poyet for Sunderland's visit to Crystal Palace tonight.
Mannone has borne the brunt of the blame for errors made in Sunderland's last two defeats, the 8-0 loss at Southampton and the 2-0 reverse at home to Arsenal last Saturday.
Poyet will give Pantilimon the chance to impress in his first Premier League start since making a summer transfer from Manchester City.
Jack Rodwell has been dropped altogether, while there is a debut for French right-back Anthony Reveillere.
Connor Wickham has been restored to the starting line-up and will set his stall out on the right wing this evening.
