KANSAS CITY striker Kei Kamara is en route to England in the hope of sealing a deadline day move to Middlesbrough.

Kamara, who had a loan spell at Norwich city last season, has emerged as one of Boro's attacking targets over the last few days.

The 29-year-old is believed to have been given permission by Kansas to travel to the UK even though a deal between the two clubs has not been finalised.

Kamara never really succeeded in spells at Columbus, San Jose and Houston but he was the Wizards' leading scorer in the last three seasons.

Middlesbrough have turned to Kamara - as well as trying other attacking avenues such as Luciano Becchio - since missing out on Ross McCormack and Tokelo Rantie.

Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray is desperate to land three new players before the transfer deadline at 11pm. A striker, though, is his highest priority.
