DANNY Wilson and Paul Ince do FA Cup battle tomorrow, with both suffering from a depleted squad, writes NICK LOUGHLIN.

Hartlepool boss Wilson is without five players, while Macclesfield chief Ince is missing four.

Ince's situation is bizarre - three players suffered broken legs in the same game last week, while another damaged knee ligaments in training on Tuesday.

Wilson will be without suspended duo Darren Williams and Gary Liddle, knee injury victim James Brown, plus loan duo Darryl Duffy and Andy Monkhouse, who haven't been granted permission by their parent clubs to play.

"We are both in the same boat,'' said Wilson. "We've got suspensions and two players who are ineligible, as well as injuries. They've got players with broken legs and ligament damage. It gives a few players a chance.

"You might say it's going to come down to what the managers can get out of what they have available. You feel for them with the horrendous bad luck they have had in the last week.

"But sentiment ends on Saturday, we just want to get through. It will be tough. People thought we would be playing Walsall.

"They were expected to beat Macclesfield in the replay. So we have to be mindful of that.''

One of the beneficiaries of the injury troubles is likely to be Antony Sweeney, who returned as a substitute last week after two months out with knee trouble. He will start as a direct replacement for Liddle.

"It was great to see Sweens back,'' said Wilson. "He was a bit of an unknown quantity for the opposition. He hasn't played recently so no-one will have monitored him and looked at what he is capable of doing.

"I thought he might catch them out and you could see how well he did out wide with his energy. All he is lacking is a bit of fitness.''

* Wilson won't be following up his interest in Norwegian duo Thomas Ulvestad and Mads-Cato Moldskred, who have returned home after a short trial.
