EACH week we profile a member of the Northern Echo Camera Club. This week it's the turn of Hannah Watson, from South Tyneside
Who or what inspired you to take up photography?
THE images of my sporting heroes in equestrian magazines. Recent travel has really inspired me to take on landscapes more though.
What was your first camera?
A POLAROID one 600. Still have it, always makes people smile.
Is there anything in particular you enjoy photographing most, and why?
HORSES – they have a very poetic way of moving and can have such big personalities.
Your favourite picture?
THE image titled White Wedding. It was my first time at a photography workshop which really made me step up my game.
Your go-to kit at the moment?
MY trusty Nikon D3100 and 55-300mm lens is my go-to for far away wildlife or fast moving horses, but I really enjoy using my 35mm f1.8 lens for small details like eyes.
Do you spend much time in post-production and what software do you use?
I TRY to do minimal editing usually, but have dabbled in double exposure work too using layers in Photoshop.
Do you have any advice for budding photographers?
SHOOT subjects you love – and you can learn a lot on YouTube.
