CELEBRATING A-level students have ended their schooldays in style.

Sixth formers from Northallerton School and Sixth Form College gathered at Solberge Hall, Newby Wiske, for an evening of fine dining and music to mark the end of their studies with an elegant leavers’ ball.

Dressed in their finest frocks and sharpest suites the 50 students enjoyed a three course sit down meal before dancing into the early hours.

Chair of the leavers’ ball organising committee Will Hayward, 18, of Northallerton, said: “This is the last time that we will probably be all together as a group so it is a bit of a bittersweet occasion.

“Northallerton School and Sixth Form College has been an incredible school over the past seven years, and the support that we have received from the staff has opened up incredible opportunities for all of us.

“It will be very sad to say goodbye at the end of the evening but we are all now ready to start the next chapter in our lives.”
