REGARDING Arriva’s plans to withdraw certain bus services for rural areas from January, including the 84 service, Bishop Auckland to Darlington via Cockfield and Evenwood (Echo, Oct 5).
It didn’t take long for Arriva to start running this service down.
On Friday, October 7, I waited for the 14:30 service 84 from Darlington. At 14:55 the bus arrived.The driver told everyone waiting that his bus was broken and there wouldn’t be a replacement. He then roared off.
This was a very poor way to treat passengers.
