WITH regard to Christine Wake’s letter (HAS, Aug 4) and others in this column regarding Bishop Auckland Football Club memorabilia I would like to mention that the Durham Amateur Football Trust (Daft) is holding an exhibition, entitled Celebrating the Life and Career of Bobby Hardisty, from Monday, September 13, to Saturday, October 2, in Bishop Auckland Town Hall and a film night and “talk in” with former playing colleagues of Hardisty on Tuesday, September 21.
The same exhibition will show in the Locomotion Museum, Shildon from Monday, October 4, to Monday, October 25. The trust is expecting Alan Adamthwaite, author of the book, Glory Days, which recalled the exploits of Bishop Auckland FC in the Fifties, to launch his new book about the life and footballing career of Hardisty, during the exhibition at the Town Hall.
For further information about the exhibitions please contact the Daft office at 4 Soho Cottages, Shildon, County Durham, DL4 1PQ, by telephone on 01388-772524 or via email at thedaft.org.uk John Phelan, Press Officer, Durham Amateur Football Trust.
