I WOULD like to thank the maintenance men in the town centre of Peterlee, County Durham.
On Monday, I parked in the Broadclose car park, but on getting out of my car I accidentally dropped the car keys down a grate.
I approached a security man who radioed for a maintenance man to come down, which they did and managed to fish the keys out with a litter picker and a magnet on the end. I offered them a tip which they declined, saying they weren’t allowed to take money. So, again, sincere thanks to the men involved.
Joe Fitzpatrick, Trimdon Grange, Co Durham.
