COLUMNIST Peter Mullen is off on his hobbyhorse yet again (Echo, Aug 3). The BBC is run by a gang of lefties giving us a “relentless barrage of political bias” (stand up John Simpson and Nick Robinson, for example).
In most people’s eyes the BBC news is a trusted source of information, as are the other mainstream terrestrial news channels.
Perhaps Mr Mullen would prefer the likes of Fox News in the US, which constantly claimed that Barack Obama was not American and was a secret communist or an Islamic fundamentalist (or even both at the same time).
This is obviously more to his liking, news from a position well to the right of Margaret Thatcher. Fox News probably regards David Cameron as an equally dangerous “lefty”.
