'Council tells me it has no money'
AFTER reading “Council staff on £100,000 revealed” (Echo, Apr 9), which told what some council employees get in wages, I was physically sick!
Oh, wow, what a fabulous service Durham County Council have provided during this period of lockdown. I have been trying to get 20 quids' worth of tarmac put in hole outside of my back yard – Durham County Council said they have got no money.
Well, I am not surprised when you consider how much they are paying themselves.
Personally, I wouldn’t pay them with copper washers.
