THERE are negative aspects to both sides of the argument for and against political correctness.
First, there’s absolutely no doubt black people have been treated atrociously – and still are. Yes, today and in this country.
This was reinforced to me the other night by something on the TV about the appalling way black lasses are treated on maternity wards – left without pain relief, their cries for help ignored, many dying of neglect, together with their babies. I think that’s utterly heinous and makes you realise that, yes the NHS may be wonderful but it’s not that bloody wonderful.
On the other, hand black militants tend to display an attitude of in-your-face belligerence, aggression and eccentricity that reflects badly (unfairly and inaccurately) on all black people and does the cause no good at all.
