DURHAM COUNTY COUNCIL will be putting the council tax up in 2021, the police will want an increase, the fire and rescue service will want an increase, and there will be an increase to keep old folk who have not saved in their lives for anything in old folks homes. Yet the council can find £2.25m to donate to the railway museum at Shildon.
The council says it has no reserves to fall back on, so where has it found this money to give away for nothing?
George Gittins, Ferryhill.
