Bishop Auckland General Hospital..Sarah Caldecott.
THE NHS is stretched to the limit due to the Covid 19 pandemic and also due to the staff shortages, but the people who work for it are trying so hard to keep everything going.
I had an appointment to go to Ward 1 at Bishop Auckland Hospital for a colonoscopy, not a pleasant procedure.
Walking into that ward at 13:30 and out at 16:00, all the staff were brilliant, friendly and supportive professional.
The doctor was gentle too! And offered an excellent cup of tea after!
Our NHS trust has tried to close parts of Bishop Auckland hospital for years, but with excellent staff like this, they should be trying to make it bigger, not smaller!
