I AM sure all of those demanding Scottish independence and a united Ireland free from the UK will agree with Mr B East that Nigel Farage should be honoured (HAS, Jan 2).

By imposing Brexit on Scotland where the vast majority voted to remain in the EU, the calls to break free from Westminster are stronger than they have ever been. We also now have a border down the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland – something Boris Johnson said would never happen.

Farage and Johnson will undoubtedly have the dubious honour of being the double act largely responsible for breaking up the UK.

It is interesting to note that Stanley Johnson, the father of our hapless prime minister, has applied for French citizenship, which says it all really.
