FOR the last weekend of November, all the weather forecasts that I saw on television and in the papers said we were in for three or four days of cold, frosty and foggy but dry weather.
Well, surprise, surprise, on Saturday it rained, and quite heavily at time, particularly on the night.
It makes you wonder where they get their forecasts from.
It reminded me of a weekend break I had in the south-west corner of Scotland that still makes me laugh today. The owner of the guest house, a very well spoken gentleman in a dickie bowtie and tartan waistcoat, said to my wife and I while we were having tea that they could not forecast the weather for this area of Scotland so the best thing to do is open a window on a morning and stick your head out. If your head is wet when you bring it back in, then it is raining.
Maybe we should take this advice in the future.
