THE proposed new custody suite cost for County Durham is estimated at £21m, while the savings from getting rid of the existing arrangements are reckoned at £400,000-a-year, so that’s a spiffing idea as it will only take 52-and-a half years to pay for. It’s great the way public services spend taxpayers’ money.
