SCHOOLS seem to be getting loaded with more and more duties which I consider to be parental responsibility.

I have in mind the breakfast provision, or the way schools now look after kids until the parents find time to collect them, or even the way they clean up kids who are not “toilet trained”. Maybe one could also include sex education and religious instruction in that list.

There really needs to be an in depth debate on a teacher’s function. It seems to have collapsed into “unwanted” duties, offloaded by parents.

Perhaps the children are unplanned and therefore unaffordable in today’s double-income society.
