THE decision to put Darlington into Covid Tier 2 raises a number of questions about local democracy.
What role did the leader of the council Heather Scott play?
Did the council ask to be put into Tier 2, was it consulted, or was the decision made by central government diktat?
Given that the criteria has not been published, was the decision based on administrative convenience by aligning Darlington with the rest of the region?
We have no idea what we have to do move down a tier.
Peter Wilkinson, Darlington.
