I’D like to add to John Watson’s letter “Responsibility” (HAS, Sept 22) about people not wearing masks while shopping.
I went into Asda in Bishop Auckland last week and I soon realised that a few shoppers weren’t wearing face coverings so I started to count them and in the ten minutes I was in the store I counted 13 shoppers not wearing masks and on top of that, all the staff on the shop floor weren’t wearing one either.
I can only assume that Asda have told staff that they wear masks at their own discretion.
Aldi in Crook on the other hand is very different. I have visited that store quite a few times since the end of lockdown and I’ve yet to see anyone not wearing a face covering and all the staff working on the shop floor stacking shelves etc. all wear masks, so guess where I’ll be doing my shopping in future?
