I HAVE been reading about Peanut the cat “Appeal after cat Peanut is run over and left for dead” (Echo, Sept 11) and I am sickened that drivers think they can injure a cat, or kill it, and it doesn’t matter.
You have to report the injuring of a dog – and you should a cat.
If you injure a cat in any way, please don’t just leave it, get help, and don’t leave it on the road to become a mangled mess.
We love our cats as much as dog owners love their dogs. Our animals help us through good times and bad, happy and sad.
One of my cats had a car reverse over him on his own drive, and the one I have now, a workman tried to poison her because he didn’t like cats, so he won’t darken my door again – I sent him packing.
I do hope Peanut gets the help he needs, it’s getting to the stage where we are frightened to let our pets out.
Please drivers – have a heart.
Dulcie Farmer, Catterick Village.
