THE writing appears to be on the wall for Boris Johnson, who, having served the purpose of getting Brexit done can now be dispensed with.

Has anyone noticed how his Tory colleagues frequently state “the Prime Minster said” when being interviewed? Finding scapegoats comes naturally to them as it did to Boris until the truth caught up with him.

Britain’s lamentable response to the pandemic has so far been blamed on PPE providers, then carers, then the companies who were awarded huge pay-outs to develop the failed tracing app and “world-beating” testing and now it is the public’s fault that we need lockdowns.

It is also somehow the EU’s fault that Ireland’s peace is being endangered by Brexit and the deal Boris himself negotiated.

Let’s be honest, the UK was far better off when the EU was helping to keep this lot under control. We had the top performing G7 economy, now the worst, we could live and work anywhere in Europe, and top international companies were using Britain as a gateway. This is all being thrown away in the Conservative game of thrones.
