A PIEBALD horse has been chained up on Cocker Beck, Darlington, for the last three days and nights. The council, the RSPCA and the police have been informed. Nothing has happened.
If I left my dog chained up there I would rightly expect someone banging on my door. Are horse owners not legally obliged to have their animals microchipped? If not, why not? There have been stories of horses and ponies being deliberately hurt while left unattended in this way. This could all end badly. None of us want that.
Alexandra Bailey, Darlington.
