I’VE just been re-watching one of my favourite TV series, Foyle’s War. Whilst most of the society this portrays has long since disappeared (usually for the better), one aspect unfortunately still remains today; the fact that there is one law for the rich and over-privileged, and another for everyone else.
Will we ever have a fair society in this country, when people are judged on their own merits, rather than relying on inherited wealth and/or which school they went to? I don’t see how we can ever progress until we get rid of this unjustified hangover from our past.
Alan Jordan, Middridge.
