ON Monday, July 20 the Government confirmed that money would be paid to schools to fund extra teaching needed to help pupils catch-up in the new school year. For a medium sized local authority primary school this amounts to about £16,000 extra income.
On Tuesday, July 21, the same Government confirmed a pay rise for teachers of 3.1 per cent to be funded from existing budgets. For a medium sized local authority primary school this will cost approximately £16,000.
