THE headline in Friday’s Northern Echo (July 16) of “999 crews unite to end assaults” is not before time. I am sure we must be the only country in Europe to allow low life to assault our emergency services. We need a riot squad to smack a few heads before one of our many heroes are killed. Before long if we do not stamp this out, a police presence will have to accompany our fire service on call outs.
Sadly our prisons are full to bursting but these toe rags have to be curtailed.
Incidents of this kind of behaviour have escalated enormously during lockdown as have incidents of speeding if our High Street in Carrville is anything to go by.
The word lawless comes to mind.
