THE Government will be happy that many people have adhered to their instructions both mandatory and voluntary that face masks or face coverings should be worn on public transport but there is quite a majority who are wary of such imposition.

The further guidance that the masks should be washed and disinfected on a regular basis is solely left to the individuals themselves which leaves health and safety questionable.

In order to defeat this particular virus, difficult and controversial decisions have to be made and wearing of face masks was never part of our usual day to day lifestyle, leaving the Government in a catch 22 as to when to relax the regulations.
