JOB CENTRES have been left off the list of places which have not been given an official date for when they might be allowed to open again.

When they do open their doors they will most certainly be in breach of the Trade Description Act. A Job Centre with no jobs is a bit like a pub with no beer.

Even before Covid-19 struck, the job centres on Teesside had few jobs .They will have even fewer now.

The glorified record employment figures the Tories once trumpeted were made up by temporary and part-time workers.

These will be among the first to lose their jobs once the Government’s work retention scheme concludes.

Job Centres will have to adapt to cope with levels of unemployment not seen since the 1980s.

Fiddling the unemployment figures is now going to be a full-time job for the Teesside Tories.
