IT is good that lockdown is now easing and more facilities are now opening: hairdressers and pubs, but I despair at why gymnasiums are not opening (Echo, Jun 25).

I sympathise with likes of health club owner Duncan Bannanyne. Tanni Grey Thompson has also spoken of her concerns. It would be easy to social distance, book a time to use the gym, maybe for just 30 minutes or an hour, block off some of the equipment as long as it’s cleaned down after use.

When you see crowds gathering on beaches, what is the Government frightened of in gyms?
