YESTERDAY, at the Broken Scar beauty spot on the edge of Darlington, I discovered a pile of abandoned barbecue food and drink. There was a family sized tray of chicken, burgers and sausages, all raw. The Strongbow cans were unopened as were the bottles of water.
Duvet cover and towels finished the picture of potential barbecue bliss.
Alas, something went wrong. I am guessing one of the party was put in charge of the disposable barbecue tray, and forgot it. Cue big row and everyone going home, leaving food and drink lying on the grass for any passing pet dog to poison themselves.
I am not a big barbecue fan, but I am thinking there a few things I would like to roast over a hot grill.
