BROKEN SCAR at Darlington is a beautiful place for a walk.
Local people love it and appreciate it. Not all though.
On Sunday, a large pile of dry branches which has been on the river bank for a year or more, was set on fire.
This was a haven for all kind of wildlife. Not anymore. All burnt to death. Burning seems to have been a thing on the river bank at the weekend.
One family left behind their large disposable barbecue tray, twisted and burnt, along with the brightly coloured mugs, plates and cutlery. A real family do.
They did take some trash home, themselves.
My thanks and gratitude go to those who turned out last night and this morning and cleared up the mess. I salute you.
Alexandra Bailey, Darlington.
