I WRITE to express my concern at work already started on the A19 widening. The project should be stopped immediately.

Two lanes into three then back to two is a recipe for an even bigger problem and delays.

This crazy project has seen possibly up to 1,000 trees chopped down and mulched just to create an extra lane for vehicles to pump out even more CO2.

It is also planned to take out the concrete section of the A19.

This will create massive delays, the likes of which we have not seen before. The road is in good condition and should not be removed.

In conclusion, I believe this whole project is nothing more than jobs creation, it will have a detrimental effect on Teesside and surrounding area for the time it takes to complete (two years) for no gain.
