NEIL McKAY (HAS, Apr 2) may like to check with the police whether the notices warning motorists that they risk fines if they drive to the car park he mentions are genuine.
Similar notices at Brack’s Farm car park in Bishop Auckland have appeared, bearing police and council logos. On checking with the police, they denied all responsibility, and suggested that the notices may have been put up by “a disgruntled resident”.
