MAYOR Ben Houchen advocates using an empty supermarket as a hospital (Echo, March 30).
Why not use a purpose-built hospital instead?
A perfectly good, never used, and ready to go example is waiting to be used at Bishop Auckland.
It could even be staffed by return to work NHS staff or does this require too much thought by the health authorities?
