WHAT an excellent picture by Andrew Davison of Spennymoor of the lighthouse at Seaham Harbour being lashed by gigantic waves and spray (Echo, Jan 13).
These lighthouses must be really strong and sturdy to withstand such frequent batterings.
This one has certainly stood the test of time, as it was built in 1905.
